
Clever wordplay and lyrical precision would accurately describe Pennsylvania’s J. Monday. However, this Keystone rapper doesn’t reign from Philly or Pittsburgh, but another ‘burgh,’ Harrisburg, the state capital.
The Capital Kid’s series of leak tracks has given him and the city a place to eat in PA’s Hip Hop scene. Conceptual songs like “Memories” where Monday reflects on Hip-Hop’s golden era, his first time performing and personal trials and tribulations showcase songwriting talents. His testimonial “My Life,” and most recently, his formal introduction to the entire game dubbed “Hello” have industry suits listening.
With his mixtape “The Sequel” on deck for late July, the self-proclaimed King of the City is confident his best has yet to be heard. If you haven’t heard J. Monday yet, give yourself a moment to meet him.
